It was a casual Birthday wish that bought these two souls together for a lifetime. The Dubai based couple’s destination wedding in Baku was a grand affair. It is rightly said, “A right location can make all the difference” and this Indian destination wedding surely proves that.
Hosted at the scenic Bilgah Beach Hotel Barkha and Manish wedding in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan was a perfect blend of colors, joy, and happiness. Their grand celebration left everyone spell bounded.
Their “How they met” story is as interesting as their Azerbaijan wedding. Manish and Barkha have known each other since 2006. It was not until the year he wished Barkha on her birthday when the two actually started talking to each other. A casual “Happy Birthday” turned into conversations that lasted for days and nights. These conversations made them fall for each other and eventually they realized that they were destined for a relationship that is to stay for a lifetime.
The Wedding Venue
So why an Indian destination wedding in Azerbaijan and not Thailand or Goa or Italy or some other picturesque location? So here is another interesting story.
The bride Barkha with her brother visited Baku for a holiday a year before their wedding and fell for the city. While finalizing the location her brother came up with the idea of a destination wedding in Baku, which initially seemed far-fetched and nearly impossible for them as the location was novel for Indian weddings. But Manish was adamant, he wanted to do something out-of-box. And so this is how they decided on an Indian Destination at a wedding in Azerbaijan for their beautiful union.
Flamboyant Mehendi
The Mehendi function hosted by the majestic Caspian Sea marked the beginning of Barkha’s and Manish Indian Destination wedding. It was a joyous celebration at the Pier Grill located in the middle of the Caspian sea. The decor was minimal yet whimsical with chandeliers made of flowers and yellow lights glittering over the roof. The couple was seen having the best time.
A Sea-Side Engagement
The rain on the Mehendi night turned the climate even more beautiful. The color palette for the event perfectly matched the clear blue skies of Azerbaijan while the large floral elements added a rustic romance to the decor. For her engagement ceremony, Barkha picked up a shimmering silver dress while Manish, on the other hand, wore a light blue blazer and pants with a white shirt to match the event decor palette. The couple entry with the cute kids stole the show.
A Lavish Sangeet
The sea-side engagement was followed by a lavish sangeet on the same evening at the Bilgah Ballroom. Fancy sleek golden elements on the roof were beautifully incorporated for the glamorous sangeet night. The stage with a huge LED backdrop looked magnificent. Traditional Azeri Dance along with myriad performances by the bride and groom families lit up the event. Manish looked all sharp and crisp in his maroon-brownish sherwani while Barkha in her red-lehenga stole everyone’s heart.
The Wedding Day
Set against the pool terrace and azure sky, it was the beautiful decorations that proved to be the best part of their wedding ceremony. Right from the circular mandap smothered in blooms to the acrylic Ganesha cutout as the backdrop every small and big detail was a sight to behold.
The Grand Reception
Right after the wedlock was the time for the party for which the family threw a grand reception. The evening began with an outstanding first dance by the bride and the groom. This was followed by the grooves of the guests on the tunes of Ask King. At the Reception, Barkha looked adorable in her golden gown while Manish stole every girl’s heart in his black tuxedo with a basic white shirt.
And that’s a wrap to an Azerbaijan wedding. We wish the couple a bond that lasts till eternity.
